Last year the Ottumwa Amateur Radio Club received a grant from the Wapello County Foundation to purchase and install a Flex 6400 to facilitate remote operation. Members use the station for multiple reasons.
- They do not have access to a location where they can set up a station.
- They need a second radio to evaluate and troubleshoot their home station.
- They are traveling and want to operate while they are away from their home station.
